Cousin Bonanza!

We traveled to So Cal this weekend to visit Grandma and Grandpa! We hit the beach. Ohh laa laa! It is our favorite!! It was so much fun! The weather was glorious! 85 degrees of pure bliss! Our kiddos jumped in the waves and ran from the crashing ones! It was hard to leave the beach, but we had adventures in LA traffic both coming and going, so we finally had to pull ourselves away from the fun! Dan took the prize for brightest burn! Apparently that office boy doesn't get out enough (and yes we use sunscreen on that kid!)

Saturday we had a fun BBQ from Grandpa (The superb Host himself!) complete with fabulous food and frisbee fun. Bear was so tired at the end of day 2 that he was falling down on the way to the car that night!

McK was the best older cousin ever playing with the 6 children 3 and under---and with the 4 and 5 year olds as well!

Lissa is the luckiest on both sides of our prolific families. She has a combination of 9 cousins her age---talk about having some girley fun! (Although ONE cousin her age is a boy!)

Big D was loving back to back vacations, last week he went to Boston to visit his other missionary grandparents, and he was spoiled just enough to be sporting a new sense of entitlement that we haven't seen him wear all too often. We are hoping it is short lived! In his defense, he sure worked with amazing diligence before his Boston trip in an effort to earn some spending money!

Little Ms. Pop who has moments of shyness bloomed in the presence of 17 kids this weekend giggling often and making funny faces at whomever would appreciate them!

It was delightful to play with 3 of the 8 kiddos with whom I grew up and their fabulous spouses whom we adore! What a blast! I was needing a vacation---and it really hit the spot!
