Not your average run...

Last night was the end of a typical long Saturday...in which I ran kids around to various locations: classes, parties, and church activities and finally at 8:30 p.m., I donned my exercise clothes for some physical variety! Phew! Nothing says fun like a run on a Saturday night! =)

Well 30 minutes later, after little folks were in bed, Dan had come home from a Daddy Daughter Date and decided to join me. We love to walk together at night. It's one of the few times that we are not overheard and can walk 3-4 miles and connect at the same time! Win-Win! That's not what I was anticipating here, I just thought I would quickly run a couple miles and get back home to maybe watch a movie with that cute hubby guy.

Nonetheless---I'll take him company anytime, so we began to walk---and the winds were unusually strong. After a mile----they were even stronger! 3 blocks later a few fat rain drops began to fall to the ground. Then the real rain began. It was soooooooo fun! It just made us laugh as we ran. We were running now as that seemed like the most logical as the rain began to pound. 5 minutes later it began to let up, but the damage was done---we were both drenched. We just kept running! And can I just tell you that running in the rain sure BEATS running in the heat! That is the truth!

Well that's not the end. The rain only let up for 2-3 minutes---and then Wowsers----down came sheets and sheets of rain. I think we did maybe 3+ miles and truly laughing a good chunk of the time---for the comical nature of running in the rain and lightening and the sweet taste of the rain!

Finally we came home and dripped in the garage watching the rain pour down awhile enjoying a change of weather! I guess we were living our own stereo typical romantic comedy movie. You know the kind that are so predictable. Ironically, that is what I loved about this date---it was unpredictable, spontaneous and fun!
