Big D and Lissa returned to school this week. Who said that summer was allowed to sneak out the back door like that? Lots of parents look forward to sticking their kids back in school, but perhaps out of insanity I love spending time with my kiddos---! Who knows if they echo my thoughts! Even though some sense of schedule is a good thing for all of us...yeah, as I type this at 12:30 a.m.? (Well the house is quiet now!) I still have 5 hours til the routine starts rolling again!
4 of the 5 chickens got haircuts on Tuesday (by mom-HA!--what kind of torture is that?), somehow Bear escaped the shave fest. Mc and Lissa both got side bangs---having hair in your eyes is in again? Mc and Bear start their own schools this next week. (Boy Pop and I are in for adjustment.) So here's the question, does a 2 year old who suddenly finds a severe lack of siblings around then become self entertained? Stay tuned. Bear will only be gone a couple hours on two days---so I think he will still be quite present!
Truly Bear's presence is a little more vibrant than most---he is in some sort of crazy hyper stage that involves tackling, pulling on various limbs, as well as quite a few smacks on the bootie! He smacked a store clerk on the bum a couple days ago as we passed down the aisle. It all happened very quickly and it took me a minute to realize why the lady was staring at me! I just about choked and stumbled through some awkward apology of a radiation leak in the house. The clerk luckily found it amusing. Phew. Well looks like we all need a little schooling in one way or another! Bear needs schooling on appropriate high 5s and mom could use one in "creative excuses for misbehaving children!" There's the title for my book!
