Oh What do you do in the summer time?

There is no doubt what 11 year old Big D likes to do! M-Friday he leaves at 6:10 a.m. to go to swim team, where he swims between 45-55 laps. Then, he comes home to do his summer chore chart (scriptures, piano, homework, chore and etc) After which he can play with friends, or we do something fun as a family!

This week we had an impromptu summer swim party for Big D and some of his friends: Gary, Sean, Chris and Jordan. They swam, played games, ate fresh Kettle corn and popsicles and reluctantly left after about 4 hours! Fun times---that only summer can bring.

However, Big D doesn't mind occasionally being by himself. This week, he took a couple books on CD from the Library cupboard and went upstairs into his room and sifted through thousands of Lego blocks to recreate sets that he has received over the years. Hours of work, but in his world it is hours of play!
Hogwarts Castle (Harry Potter)
Star Wars Ship (the Imperial Star Destroyer---he says)

With moving parts of course.

Well there's another slice of life from our corner!

I'm telling you, Big D and our son would really love playing legos together. He just completed (again) this nice legos sports car he got for Christmas, and it's on his toy cabinet, because he is so proud!
