Dallin's Surprise...

It really is pretty tricky to pull off a surprise for your kiddo, who is bright and quite aware of what is going on, but I think we did. Big D wanted a party so badly, but we only do friend parties every other year. However, as he starts junior high next year in another part of town, we threw him a fun surprise shin dig! His cousin Jaden and family took him to a movie and later his sneaky friends arrived. Big D's friends told me how a teacher at school asked him why invitations were circulating the school for him (doesn't anyone know how to keep a secret???) Well, all our buddies hid in the garage and when Dallin came home I asked him to put a soccer ball away in the garage, and Dallin just about jumped out of his skin when everyone yelled "Surprise!" We took these kiddos to the dog park and rode the coaster cars, (which was a huge hit---and as always, all other patrons of the park wondered where we got these fun toys!) We played spider tag and ran a crazy three legged race on the huge stairs there, and played a little game of frisbee golf. Finally we came home and made enormous sundaes with pounds of toppings and opened gifts! Dallin is a great kid and we adore him! We love his endless energy, teasing smile and zest for life! (Thanks to Rick and Janae for the Surprise help and Julie for help at the park!!)
