Here are a few things that have been said in the last couple days, that I thought I might want to remember...
Sunday after our choir number (in which Dan, Mc, Big D and myself sang leaving the youngest three watching on the pew) There is general silence in the congregation only to be broken by Pop who pipes up full voice waving her hands: "Hi daddy I'm right here" so that Dan would know where he should sit.
I took Bear and Pop on a mommy date to frozen yogurt and the park...well they were thrilled and just enjoying being alive---when Pop cuddled up next to Bear while eating their yogurt and Bear turns to me and says "Mom do you have your camera with you?" He of course was hoping that I would capture this darling moment. (nope, no camera that day--but I happily have a mental picture)
I was dropping Bear and his friend off to preschool yesterday, when Pop indignantly says "Hey, you can't leave this car without giving me a hug" to which Bear complies and then Pop so sweetly says "I love you Kybear" and Bear says "I love you too Tali"--to which he looked over at me and smiled shyly. Then they struggled for a minute with their little fingers to make the I love you sign, after which Bear hops out of the car and runs up the walk.
Lissa last night asks me "Mom who is your best friend?" I was trying to listen to what the real question was---but didn't discern anything tricky, so I said "Dad is my best friend" and then she replied "No, I mean who is your best friend in the family?" (Apparently Dan is not in my family). Then I said, I like all my kiddos so much," And then I asked Lissa "So who is YOUR best friend in the family?" And she just smiled back coyly, so I guessed "Mc?" Shakes head. "Pop?" Shakes head----and then I looked at her knowing the answer and said "You tell me" and she said "Dad is my best friend!" with an infectious 8 year old giggle of delight! That is one lucky guy!
