Give...

That is what one of my Thanksgiving signs says. It should probably say "Thanks" or "Fall" or something else seasonable trendy, but I think Give is a wonderful thing to say. If we truly are thankful, then we will give! A smile, a kind word, a lift!
Well, I have been swamped with life (fathom--just like the rest of us trying to go as fast as a motorized boat with only a pair of oars!) Nonetheless, while hugging my birthday son good night, and sorting some laundry (ya hoo!) I was reflecting on how grateful I am for so many wonderful blessings! Read on if you'd like to share.
1. Of course my family! I am grateful for the whole learning process that comes from being in a family. As one that grows up with 5 brothers and 3 sisters, and now as a mom of 5 talented kiddos with their own share of gifts and trials. It truly is a marvelous and amazing school--this earth life. What a journey. Challenging and awe inspiring!
2. I love it that I know to cherish my little guys now, I still hustle them around to and fro as life demands, but I drink in their hugs and tickle them and roll on the grass, as I know this time will evaporate all too soon!
3. Pop gave me a squishy hug today (she's 2--so she still hugs my face and head) and she whispered "You're my best friend" How lucky am I? Beyond words lucky. I am thankful for Love of children. It really is no wonder why Christ liked them.
4. I love fresh linens---yeah maybe weird, but I love soft, fresh sheets and big ol cozy towels. I wouldn't say that I really take enough time to enjoy these luxuries, but on those rare moments that I am not falling into bed, or taking a 3.5 minutes shower----then I love those fabulous comforts that we enjoy so freely here in the USA.
5. I am grateful for exercise! I am glad that I am not at odds with it anymore, that I don't fight 100 excuses everyday on why I don't have time, (only 13 or so) But that I love the clarity it gives me and how I feel healthier and spunkier to conquer that mountain daily. Phew!
6. I am grateful for scriptures, and conference addresses and uplifting people and truth and all these great things that inspire me to be better, because I truly do want to be better. I am thankful that these things---and the spirit work from the inside out persuading greatness. I am grateful for Moroni and Nephi and the 2060 sons of Helaman and Lot, and President Hinckley and Monson and ....I really could gush forever. I love great people who have chosen a hard, but better way, because it makes my way more clear. I am thankful for them.
7. I am grateful for cool and fabulous technology that allows me to easily and time effectively keep in touch with loved ones---and look up a word, or anything so quickly! Love it!
8. I am thankful for fabulous sunsets like tonight (while at soccer practice)---such creative, fabulous colors---what a remarkable palette of beauty! And I'm thankful for little things like Dove chocolate, and fresh popped popcorn and fresh veggies---and gardens (free of bugs---HA) and laughter and happiness!
The more I write, the more I think of---truly thankfulness is contagious! Count your blessings today! If you need a boost or want to give a boost--list your blessings! It reminds you how your cup is quite full!
